Welcome to Joel Tangunan’s Creative World

Where music tells stories, emotions become melodies, and every song reflects life’s beautiful and painful moments.

A Journey of Healing, Passion, and Purpose

I’m Joel Tangunan—songwriter, advocate, radio voice, and person with a disability. My life took a turn when I was struck by polio at a very young age. But it wasn’t just the physical challenge that shaped me—it was the journey of acceptance that truly changed everything.

At 16, when I became one of the adopted children of the Cericos family, I slowly began to accept myself and acknowledge my disability. That acceptance opened a new door. I started writing manuscripts—not for fame, but as a way to unload the heavy burdens in my heart. That was when creativity became my companion and healing tool.

From Microphone to Melody

My broadcasting path began in 1998 as a co-host on an AM radio talk show in Quezon City. In 2007, I became known as “Kasamang JT” on Afternoon Delight, a beloved Catholic Community Radio program. Today, I continue to inspire and entertain as “Master Wheels” on my online platform, JT Lite Online Radio FM.

Songs that Speak from the Soul

My music is rooted in honesty. I write about what I see, feel, and what others wish to express—covering a wide range of genres and themes. Some songs explore inclusion and resilience, while others tell everyday stories, celebrate love, or echo pain and hope. Whether it’s a commissioned piece or my own composition, I create to connect.

Advocacy Through Action

Beyond music, I’m passionate about transforming the inclusion of persons with disabilities into an empowered community of persons with determinations. I believe every voice matters, and I work to ensure that no one is left behind. I’m also committed to community resilience, especially in disaster preparedness, because our lived experiences make our collective strength even more powerful.

Journey With Me

Explore my music. Listen to the stories I tell. Celebrate creativity, courage, and determination with me. This is more than a personal journey—it’s a movement that honors every voice, embraces every ability, and proves that our limitations don’t define us—they refine us.
